About this trek
Seven alpine lakes strung across high meadows and glacial passes, walked over eight days from Sonamarg. You\u2019ll cross four passes above 3,700 m, camp beside water each night, and finish at Naranag. It\u2019s a demanding route with long days — but the lakes come one after another, and the trail is quiet once you\u2019re past the first camp.

Itinerary
1
Arrive Sonamarg (2,740 m)
Meet the team, kit check, and an acclimatisation walk above the valley.

Sonamarg to Nichnai (3,500 m)
Climb through pine and birch to the Shekdur meadow, then camp at Nichnai.

Nichnai Pass to Vishansar (3,700 m)
Cross Nichnai Pass (4,100 m) and descend to the first of the great lakes.

Vishansar to Gadsar (3,600 m)
Over Gadsar Pass (4,200 m) past Kishansar, with the day\u2019s highest views.

Gadsar to Satsar (3,600 m)
A gentler day skirting a chain of seven small lakes below the ridgeline.

Satsar to Gangbal (3,500 m)
Cross Zaj Pass to the twin lakes of Gangbal and Nundkol under Harmukh.

Gangbal to Naranag (2,300 m)
Long descent through meadow and forest to the trailhead at Naranag.

Naranag to Srinagar
Transfer back to Srinagar by late morning. Trip ends.
